Death is one of the four Horsemen of the Apocalypse, and claimed to be the Death of all universes. He will eventually reap God himself. Though chained to Lucifer, he helped to return the angel to his Cage. He retrieved Sam's soul from Hell and set up a wall to block the memory of it after a wager (which he won).

In his latest canon point, he has been summoned and bound by the Winchesters to kill Castiel. However, he is set free and soon takes his leave of the matter.

He's quite polite, if intimidating, and seems to take a guilty pleasure in junk food.
